Local Nets
Traffic nets are an important part of amateur radio. It's important that amateur operators check in to nets on a regular basis. Nets insure that the amateur operator's equipment is operating properly. Nets teach the amateur operator about the capabilities of  his equipment and station location. How to operate in a organized net group etc. There are many benefits to participating in amateur radio nets. But most of all, they keep you informed about the amateur community and keeps your operating skills honed!
